After serving six years in the army, including a deployment to Iraq, I’ve always tried to push through pain and challenges on my own. But after months of excruciating pain, I’ve learned that I need a new left hip. My surgery is scheduled for February 13th. While I am employed, my insurance company, United Healthcare, unfortunately covers nothing for this procedure. The financial burden of medical bills, copays, and the basic expenses of daily life during my recovery is overwhelming. I am deeply worried about how I’ll keep up with bills while I’m unable to work, and how I’ll provide for my four-year-old son during this time.
Asking for help is not easy for me. My time in the military taught me to be self-reliant, but right now, I need to reach out. Every dollar raised will go directly to covering my surgery, medical costs, and keeping our home running while I recover. My biggest hope is to keep my son warm through the cold February months and make sure he can still enjoy his favorite show, Paw Patrol, while I heal. Your support—no matter the amount—would mean the world to us. Thank you for considering helping my family during this difficult time.
