Help a veteran and single mom keep her family together

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for taking the time to read and share my story. I am a single mom of 4 children ages, 4, 5, 9, and 14, a proud Air Force Veteran and change agent in my community desperately seeking financial assistance. I was forced to resign from my job with the federal government in December 2024 before the large layoffs occurred due to an internal change in administration, new position description, and denial to approve temporary reasonable accommodations to transfer my health care.

Since transitioning from the federal government, I have a hard time finding employment. Largely due to the competitive market, political environment, hiring freezes in the federal government and service connected disabilities. Prior to my departure from the federal government, I was deemed a permanent career professional, outstanding employee and had vested over 6 years of service after transitioning from the Air Force with the federal government.

Over the last 7 months I have sold or cashed out of all of my assets to include my retirement savings, rental properties and fine jewelry. I had to drop out of my Ph.D. program that was funded by my previous employer and completely change my career trajectory and temporarily place my educational pursuits on hold.

As a means to survive I started a small business dedicated to helping other small businesses grow and market their products and services through social media marketing. Recently my unemployment journey has reached a critical turning point as my resources have diminished, and my mortgage company is unwilling to extend my forbearance program.

As a single mother of 4 I am no stranger to adversity, sacrifice, or hardship but I would say that I have never been "here" before. As a first-generation graduate, I often tell people that I am not too far behind chaos. Meaning that if you knew where I came from and the challenges that I have had to overcome to get my education and break generational curses you may not believe me. Also meaning I have little to no support.

My children have an always will be my biggest blessings. They are my "why" and the closest thing to family I have left on this earth. One of my biggest fears is having to separate my children if forced to relocate because they do not all have the same father. As of now I would not be able to finance or afford to relocate which leaves us nearly homeless and me up every night with worry and agony.

I am not okay yall!

Still extremely embarrassed and a bit shell shocked that his is happening. However, I love my children more and anyone who knows me can vouch for that. I am a great mother, auntie, friends, caregiver, community member, educator, mentor, and faithful child of GOD.

We are Seeking assistance to help cover past mortgage expense and to help rebuild our lives. Your gratitude, warm wishes, prayers, and heartfelt messages are appreciated. I ask that you all continue to keep us close to heart at this time and please let me know if there are other way in which you may be able to help.

With sincere love and gratitude,

Sara
