Last semester, Yesica’s father was deported back to Mexico. He had 4 daughters and a son and was the only parent and provider for the family.
Yesica is a first generation student aspiring to be a teacher. She is a full-time student and part-time worker at the University of Texas at Austin. After the deportation of her father, Yesica, along with her younger sisters and brother, experienced a tragedy no one should ever have to go through. As a result, Yesica’s grades suffered and her student debt became a greater burden.
She managed to continue her education this spring semester, but she is unable to register for classes next year at UT due to her current debt. Until she pays back her loans, she will not be allowed to register and finish her degree.
I ask all of you to please consider making a donation and/or share this page to your friends and family. Any contribution will help, no matter how small. No one should have to give up their right to education. Let’s help a Longhorn graduate alongside all of us.
