My name is Artur, and I am a first-year student at the University of Virginia majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by how technology and biology can come together to solve some of the most pressing challenges in medicine. At UVA, I’m pursuing this passion by studying how artificial intelligence and molecular biology can be integrated to improve healthcare outcomes.
In the future, I aspire to conduct research on developing engineered viruses that can selectively target and destroy antibiotic-resistant bacteria—an emerging field with the potential to revolutionize the way we treat infections. I’m also deeply interested in bioinformatics, genetic engineering, and using computational models to design precise, personalized medical solutions.
One challenge I’m currently facing is not having a reliable laptop powerful enough to run the advanced software, simulations, and coding tools required for my engineering coursework and research projects. A new laptop would allow me to fully participate in my classes, explore computational biology, and begin working on independent research that could one day make a difference in global health.
I am humbly asking for your support to help me reach this goal. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring me closer to having the tools I need to succeed in my studies and continue pursuing my dream of advancing medicine through innovation.
Thank you for reading my story and for supporting my education and future in biomedical research.
