Hi, I'm Liudmyla, mother of Anastasiia (Nastia) who has got an amazing opportunity to train this summer with the Nofio Sir Gar / Carmarthenshire County swimming team at Gloria Sports Arena in Turkeys' summer international swimming camp.

In 2022 we were driven from our home by the illegal invasion of Ukraine by russia and my two daughters and myself were resettled under the Homes for Ukraine scheme in Carmarthenshire.

As Nastia had been training in Ukraine since 6 years old, we joined Amman Valley, the local swimming club to continue her training. Nastia trains 15 hours a week, successfully competing at many galas, winning lots of medals, including individual finals and relay silver medal at the Welsh National Championships last year.

Subsequent to this she has been made a member of the Nofio Sir Gar county team, swimming in the Arena UK Team Championships and now has this amazing opportunity to train in Turkey.

Being a university trained Teacher in Ukraine I am working as a Teaching Assistant with SEND children in Carmarthen area now. This, unfortunately, is a minimum wage job and does not allow me to have the spare money to send Nastia to Turkey. This is why I am asking you for help fundraising this trip.

The swimming camp in Turkey with Nofio Sir Gar under the Swim Wales banner is a great opportunity for Nastia to immerse herself 24/7 at probably the highest level of swim training that a 13-year old girl can do. Currently, Nastia has a Welsh ranking of 5th in butterfly, 8th in breaststroke, and top 20 rankings in backstroke, freestyle and individual medley.

The training in Turkey will help her to improve her skills and achieve even better results. However, without your help and kind donations her Olympic dreams and aspirations may not be achieved.
