Help a Ukrainian refugee family stuck in Hawaii
Donation protected
My brother Jensen recently passed away at the age of 27, unexpectedly. He leaves behind his 6-year-old daughter Natalie, as well as his former wife, Alena. Natalie had flown to Hawaii for my brother’s funeral along with her mother and grandmother, but they became refugees the day after my brother’s funeral when Russia invaded Ukraine.
With the start of the war in Ukraine, Natalie’s family now has no money, no home to which they can return, and no support system abroad that they can lean on. They came to the US without even a checked bag because they meant to leave shortly after my brother’s funeral.
Your donations will go directly towards:
-Securing three months' worth of rent (first month’s, last month’s, and security deposit)
-School Supplies for Natalie
-A laptop to assist Alena’s job search
-Food
-Clothing
Any money raised in excess of our goal will go to Ohmadyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv.
Starting a new life will be an expensive and difficult process, so I am asking for help in order to get Natalie, Alena, and Natasha the bare necessities that they need right now. Hawaii is one of the most expensive places to live in this country, so even a temporary stay in the middle of this crisis requires substantial help that my family and I cannot provide alone.
Thank you for your time, and for whatever you feel you can spare in this moment. Please feel free to share this post.
