Help a Ukrainian Family Rebuild in Minnesota
Donation protected
Hello friends and community members,
We are reaching out to request your help as we sponsor a Ukrainian refugee family who will be arriving in Minnesota on November 14th. Our goal is to raise funds to support Olena, Dmitry, and their two young daughters, Viktoria (7) and Leona (3), as they begin their new life in a safer environment.
This brave family fled their hometown of Sumy, which is on the Russian border near the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. Portions of their oblast were taken over by Russia in the early stages of the invasion of Ukraine and the city and oblast (including their parents) remain under constant attack: https://www.npr.org/2024/02/15/1231861062/ukranians-in-sumy-are-still-living-under-attacks-from-russia
Like many parents, Olena and Dmitry dream of a brighter and safer future for their children. They are determined to find work and build a new home in Minnesota. With two young girls about the same age as Viktoria and Leona, we are intent on helping however we can. We also believe it is more important now to find ways to show that Americans are welcoming, compassionate, and understand the global implications of their political voices. Even here they will face an uncertain future.
Your contributions will be used to help fund essential housing costs, reliable transportation, childcare, and basic necessities as they get settled into their new community. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in their journey toward rebuilding their lives.
If you can, please help us come together to provide Olena, Dmitry, Viktoria, and Leona with the support they need during this challenging time. Thank you for your generosity and kindness!
