Hi friends, colleagues, and family,

I'm raising funds to help my friend, a postdoctoral researcher at UCLA, who was recently affected by sudden changes to U.S. immigration policy.

A few weeks ago, the Trump administration revoked F-1 visas for thousands of international students and researchers across the country. This included my friend, who lost his immigration status and was immediately unable to work or receive pay. Although this policy was thankfully reversed soon after, the damage was already done.

He went weeks without income, had to pay for legal help, and is now struggling to afford basic needs like rent and food.

To protect his privacy, I’ve left out his name and photo, but please know that he’s a real person—someone who contributes greatly to science and research and who now needs our support. All proceeds will go directly to him.
