On July 3rd a 90 ft live oak blew over by the root onto my house during a freak microburst/mini tornado. Thankfully myself, the dog and the cat were unharmed despite being in the house, me standing under the tree when it fell.
As many of you may know, I’ve spent the last seven years and every extra dollar renovating my home inside and out as well as many of the existing gardens.
Of course insurance will cover (?) the emergency tree removal off of the house and the home repairs. But this traumatic experience made me realize the ten majestic shade trees around my home were future hazards to life, limb and home.
Insurance will not cover proactive tree removal however so that cost (18k) fell onto me. During the massive tree removal project my entire back yard was destroyed, my once idyllic shady shire is now a stripped and barren scene out of MadMax. It desperately needs resuscitation and my liquidity is drained.
I continue to practice as a PA-C but now have a much less stressful, less lucrative position. I continue to maintain a single income household.
I’m leaning into the generosity and abundance of all my friends across the years and many miles to help chip in to restore my stricken property.
Any little bit will help!
Thank you in advance
