Hello all, my name is Mariel, and I'm a transwoman living in Wisconsin. Any of you living in or watching America recently know that the LGBTQIA+ community is under attack here, with trans people being heavily targeted. We've been called violent and sub-human, when all we're trying to do is survive. My partners and friends have been encouraging me to leave the country, and fortunately, I do have marketable and in-demand skills. What I don't have is the larger sums of money required to make the move.

I have been working with an immigration consulting firm in New Zealand. I've used all their free resources, and am at the point where to continue to receive their assistance, I need to sign a contract with them. That contract is about $3500 USD, and then the cost of the visa itself is another $3500 USD. Then there's the cost of the actual move itself, but that's for later. Unfortunately, my money has been going to taking care of those I love who have been rendered jobless by the tariffs and medical bills, so there isn't any left for me. So I turn to you all. My goal is about $7000, to take care of the contract and visa. Anything raised beyond that would be used for the move, or to pay down debts so I don't carry debts in USD over and try to pay them off with NZD. I also figure, if a young conservative whining about losing his job because he said he was a Nazi can raise around $400,000, why can't a simple transgirl who just wants to get to a place she doesn't feel like her life is in danger?
