My name is Lawrence, but you can call me Louie, or Lou. You may also know me as, "Opal."

Throughout my life I have never felt comfortable as the gender I was born into; I never was meant to be a woman. My body never felt like mine -- every feature that makes me biologically/outwardly female feels foreign and was never meant to be mine.

I started this GoFundMe because I am looking for support for those who sympathize with my situation, and can spare resources for someone less fortunate than themselves. I am a full-time student who works whenever possible, but I will not be able to save up enough for the necessary procedure for a long, long time. This procedure would help me complete my goal of being male-passing, and would alleviate the chronic back issues I have long struggled with. This procedure is known as a double-mastectomy.

I am aware that asking for support of this kind is a very sensitive thing, and I will be more than grateful for anything that comes my way. My hope is that, in the future, I will be able to in-turn support someone else in my position. Everyone deserves to feel right in their own bodies, so please if you can, support me in journey to that goal.
