Urgent!

Hello, I'm Elijah, a transgender teacher needing help fleeing Texas in order to pursue a job opportunity in another state. My partner and I have been trying to get out of Texas for years now, but due to our current job (we both currently work in a hot warehouse that isn't currently offering full-time), and since both of us struggle with physical disabilities, we've been unable to save. On top of that, what we have managed to save has been used in multiple emergency veterinary visits for both my elderly corgi and our cat within the past year.

I have been offered a job as an art teacher in another state (I am being vague for my safety and anonymity). This will be my first teaching job since graduation last December and a great opportunity for me! However, getting there will not only empty my savings, but it goes well beyond what I currently have. I will not receive my first paycheck until September, so I will be going four weeks without any pay. I need to be there on 7/24 and will be taking what I can of my possessions in a car and driving on a multi-day trip. My partner will join me once his job transfer goes through, which could take weeks to months. This means that I will be needing to pay rent in two locations, which currently, I can only do for one month. I will not be able to go beyond that amount of time without your help!

This would all be a lot to deal with in any normal circumstance, but on top of everything, I'm also dealing with a 13-year-old dog who has cancer. She's not showing signs of pain yet, so we do not want to cut her time short, but we cannot predict when things will start to turn. And I owe my bank quite a bit of money which we are litigating currently.

One bright light out of all this is that I might, with your donations, be able to afford (and be allowed, as Texas does not allow for this anymore) getting my documents updated to reflect my updated sex and update an older legal name change with the state of California. The price for updating my birth certificate was one thing, but mostly the fact that I could not use my updated birth certificate to update my Texas identification has delayed me. Now that I'll be in a state that allows for legal sex to be updated, I can do that.

Maybe I'll even be able to make an honest man of my partner of 15 years. ;)
