Thank you so much for taking the time to read, share, or support in any way you can ♥️
It's taken a lot for me to ask for help, but I’m currently facing an unexpected and urgent housing crisis, and I’m turning to my community, and the kindness of strangers, for support.
After an acquaintance abruptly backed out of our housing agreement without notice, I was left without a stable plan, all while navigating deep grief. On March 13th, I said goodbye to my beloved cat, Buster, who’d been by my side for 10 years. The emergency vet visit to give him a peaceful and dignified passing cost me my remaining savings and maxed out my credit card. I’m now financially depleted, trying to manage both the emotional weight of loss and the urgent need to secure safe housing.
I’m hoping to raise $3,000 to help cover:
- Emergency vet care ($1,200)
- Moving costs ($300-500, including a day off work)
- Security deposit for a new home ($1,100)
Without these funds, my only options would be to either leave New York and my support system, commuting 2+ hours from my mother’s home in South Jersey, or to detransition and take a live-in caregiver role for my elderly grandmother, who is unaware of my trans identity. Both situations would be destabilizing and unsafe for me.
I’m proud to be part of NYC’s trans and queer community, and I want to stay connected to the life and work I’ve built here. With your help, I can continue moving forward in safety and dignity.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this with your network. Every bit TRULY helps.
