Help a Trans Person Leave Texas, Get to a Safe Place ASAP
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sebastian Sean and I am a trans man in my late 20s living in Southwest Texas. Due to recent legislative moves, I am very much being rushed into moving back to my home state of California for my safety and the legal safety of loved ones in Texas. I hope to be able to leave Texas as soon as possible, but, unfortunately, do not yet have an exact date. I will be saving up as much as possible myself, but things will be much faster with even just a little bit of help. Ideally, I would have a car again, but I do not see that as a possibility within a matter of months, so I will have to take a plane or train. Once I get to California, I will be looking for jobs and my own housing, and I have a close friend who will be helping me with that. My hope is that I will be able to leave Texas by the end of the year or even January 2026 at the absolute latest. I did a lot of math, talking, and some research into the area I’ll be moving to and have made an approximation of the bare minimum of moving and living expenses for a few months. I have based my goal off of this plus some of my bills in Texas so that those who I currently live with will have at least one month of my share covered without worry.
Cost Breakdown:
- Travel: $340
- Uber to station: $35
- Living cost (with a friend for a short time): $750
- Public transport monthly pass: $90
- My current monthly loans: $170
- Pet insurance: $40
- Cat Food: $50
- Current monthly credit payments: $110
- Texas bills: $1360
Thank you so much to anyone reading this, any little bit and even sharing helps
