Help a Trans Person Get to a Safe Place

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Kristine and I'm trans and neurodivergent. I've been putting this off for a long time because I felt like there are better people to donate to than me. I'm not that disabled, I'm not a person of color, I'm not in a dire situation, but I need help. I've tried doing this on my own but I keep getting put back to square one.

Here's the situation: I'm currently living in a rundown apartment with an extremely toxic roommate. This roommate refuses to clean up after himself, he won't contact the landlord to get things fixed and just won't do anything. I’m not on the lease at my current place, so I can't contact the landlord to get things fixed/replaced.

The toilet is cracked, the oven is older than I am, all the cupboards and doors need to be replaced - everything is literally falling apart. I’ve done what I can to try and keep it clean but I can't keep this up, especially when the roommate just keeps things filthy.

With my increasing health issues I really can't live in a place with so much visible mold in the bathroom.

I feel extremely unsafe around him and can't comfortably transition here. He collects guns, which isn't an issue per se, but I have depression and intrusive thoughts that are under control now. I worry that the longer I live here the more likely I am to hurt myself. I don't know how much longer I can live here safely.

I make enough to cover my rent and a few bills, but that's really it and that's with working 50-60 hour work weeks. I'm trying to save up for depositnd the first and last rent that everyone wants but it's proving impossible without help. My current rent, plus the stress, plus things like medical bills from last year maxing out all my credit cards just to stay afloat aren't helping either. I'm stuck in this situation that I desperately need to get out of, but saving enough to move into another room has been extremely difficult.

The funds donated will go towards covering deposit for the apartment, plus the first and last month's rent. Anything left over will go towards getting caught up on any outstanding bills..I’ve done the math, and I can afford a safe place here on my own with this help.

Helping me move out of this situation would allow me to transition safely, and I’ll be extremely grateful for the help.

Thank you.
