Help a Trans Person Escape a Fascist Crumbling Empire

For most of my life I was privileged enough to not be a political person, and always hating the constant news cycle of fearmongering and, for lack of a better word, doomerism, I tried my best to avoid it wherever I could. However lately, few are lucky enough to not have something they care about actively jeopardized by the tonal shift felt across the US over the last decade, and it is nigh on impossible not to scan the news just to make sure you and those you care about are still safe.

With mounting anti-trans legislation, violent (and fatal) hate crimes seemingly now reported almost every day, even in predominantly blue states, and an administration hell-bent on destroying democracy for years or decades to come, it's increasingly clear this country has not just made my existence a matter of political debate, but has picked a side, and, like many others, I no longer feel safe living here, blameless in paying the taxes that are used to persecute the at-risk, and have lost the optimism that this all will pass in time.

I am fortunate enough to live in a relatively safe city for the time being, however my situation and income have not been steady since I moved out at 16, and while I have thought about moving to Canada for a while, the costs and fees required for visa applications, moving expenses, proof of stability, and other naturalization procedures always put it out of reach and feasibility for me. This year, I have really been trying to buckle down on getting myself to a comfortable spot, not living month-to-month, and focussing my time and energy on long term goals, but in no longer seeing a future for myself in this country, I feel I really need to prioritize finding options outside of the US in case things suddenly get worse, which unfortunately seems increasingly likely.

My hope with this fundraiser would be to get enough savings to realistically pursue a move to the north within the next 2 years, and I have no expectations that the goal will be met, let alone any time soon, but anything towards this while I work on savings myself would be monumentally helpful. I have already done a great deal of research into what would be required, and my first goal would be to get a work visa and employment offer, which is something I will be working on in the meantime. Anything donated would exclusively go towards helping me move, and PLEASE only donate if you have the means and security yourself, this would be really great for me, but I know there are people in MUCH greater need of assistance, especially right now.
