My name is Emmett. I’m a 35-year-old trans man fighting for my safety, stability, and the right to live freely.
The world around me has grown increasingly dangerous for people like me. I’m raising $6,500 to relocate safely and legally abroad to a place where I can live without fear, continue working, and build a stable future.
This isn’t about escaping.
It’s about survival, hope, and the simple right to exist.
Who I Am
I’ve spent my life in service working in restaurants, leading teams, and learning what it means to care for people even when life was heavy. I believe in kindness, hard work, and compassion.
I’m a student, a builder, and someone who still believes that people can make a difference.
I’m not asking for luxury.
I’m asking for safety, stability, and the chance to keep living authentically without fear.
Why I Need Your Help
In recent years, it’s become harder and harder to feel safe as a transgender person.
Rights, protections, and access to basic healthcare have been chipped away piece by piece. What used to feel like security has turned into uncertainty and fear.
There are mornings I wake up and wonder if I’ll ever know peace again not just rest, but the safety that allows you to breathe freely.
That’s what this fundraiser is about: not escape, but survival.
What the $6,500 Covers
This amount will help me relocate legally, safely, and sustainably covering the essential steps to rebuild my life abroad:
- Required proof of funds and visa documentation
- Apostilled documents and fingerprinting fees
- Certified veterinary paperwork for my cat
- Travel costs and initial resettlement expenses
- Visa extensions and a small emergency safety net
- I’ve carefully planned and researched every step, but I can’t do it alone.
What I’m Doing to Help Myself
I’m not standing still.
I currently work two food service jobs, putting in long hours to cover bills and savings. I’m also enrolled in a coding boot camp so I can build a career in remote tech work a skill set that will allow me to support myself once I’m settled abroad.
Alongside that, I’m developing a small wellness and clean-living business, hoping to grow it into a source of independence.
I’m working as hard as I can, but between bills, tuition, and rising costs, I’ve reached a point where hard work alone isn’t enough.
The Fear and the Hope
I wish I could say this move was about opportunity.
But it’s about survival.
Each week brings new restrictions and rising hostility. It’s terrifying to live in a place where people like me are debated instead of protected where even existing openly feels like a risk.
And yet, in the middle of all this fear, I’m holding onto hope.
Hope for mornings that begin in peace, not panic.
Hope for a life built on safety, work, and purpose.
Hope for a chance to simply be.
How You Can Help
Your support no matter the size will help me cross the last distance between fear and freedom.
- $10 helps with document certification
- $25 helps cover travel costs
- $100+ brings me closer to securing housing and a visa
If you can’t donate, sharing my campaign means just as much. Every share brings me closer to the safety I’ve worked so hard to reach.
From the bottom of my heart thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing beside someone trying to survive with dignity and hope.
With gratitude,
Emmett
