Hi, my name is Allison Cruz and I am 15 years old. My dad got deported so my family moved back to El Salvador while I stayed here in the US. I almost got taken away by foster care because I was moving from house to house since there wasn't a stable place for me to stay. Everything was very pricey and there were also many cons to the places I was staying at. I finally couldn't find one stable place for me to stay and I was homeless for about 4 days, sleeping in the truck that my dad left me. I would still go to school even though I had nowhere to stay.

I asked my sister if I could move in with her in the city she lives in, but she didn't have any room. (I didn't tell her about my situation because I was scared she was going to get upset with me.) However, she found me a room I can stay in. I pay $500+ a month; my rent and bills are $500, my phone bill is $30, and I spend at least $35 on groceries. I would only need 3 months of rent paid off meanwhile I can find a job. Thank you!
