Hi everyone, we are Ben and Hannah Gulick, coming to you with a request for support during a difficult time for us.

In October 2024, Ben — a dedicated elementary school teacher — was suddenly hit with a wave of intense vertigo. It wasn’t just a passing dizziness; it became so overwhelming that Ben would get sick a few times every day and even lost their balance more than once. Despite taking time off to recover, the symptoms never went away.

Months later, Ben is still dealing with constant, debilitating dizziness. It’s made even the simplest tasks — like driving, using a computer, or reading — incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Most days are spent in a dark, quiet room, trying to manage the headaches and nausea that come with the unrelenting vertigo.

They’ve lost their job while waiting for answers that still haven’t come. A neurologist is working with them to try different medications, but it’s a slow, trial-and-error process. In the meantime, Ben can’t work, and disability services can take years to process — time we just don’t have.

Right now, we’re asking for help to get through this difficult stretch — to cover basic monthly expenses and the extra medical costs that will begin piling up. Ben has always been someone who showed up for others, especially for their students, and now they need a little help from their community to make it through.
