Help a Teacher Fix Her Car for the School Year

Hi everyone,

My name is Ashley and I’m a public school teacher in Washington state. Three years ago, I moved across the country after beating cancer to start over, follow my calling to teach, and build a new life.

But it hasn’t been easy. When I moved, the moving company lost all of my belongings. They only reimbursed me 30 cents per pound, so I had to replace everything from scratch. On top of that, I’ve had medical challenges and bills that set me back financially.

Now, just as the school year is about to begin, my car has broken down. The clutch in my 2017 Mini Clubman needs to be replaced, and the repair is estimated to cost around $2,500 here in Bellingham. Without a car, I can’t get to school without help or even take care of everyday needs. As a single woman living paycheck to paycheck, this unexpected repair is overwhelming.
