Help a Survivor Remove the "Pins of Abuse" and Breathe Again

Donation protected
Hello, I am writing to you from Montreal, Canada, on behalf of a dear friend currently in South Korea who is facing an unimaginable crisis. My friend is a survivor of lifelong trauma, and today, he is fighting for his very survival.

1. The Physical Scars of a Painful Past
Abandoned in a public restroom at just one year old, my friend grew up in an orphanage where he endured years of severe physical abuse. The surgical steel pins placed in his arm and leg following those assaults are still inside his body today. They press against his nerves, causing constant pain—a literal, daily reminder of the violence he survived. He desperately needs surgery to remove these "pins of abuse" to finally close that chapter of his life.

2. A Cycle of Medical Crises and Hunger
In addition to his past trauma, he has suffered from a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) and has undergone three major surgeries. Because he had no home to recover in, he had to return to manual labor immediately, causing the condition to recur repeatedly. Recently, he suffered a severe hand tendon injury while working. Today, he is facing eviction and has gone several days without a single meal.

3. The Goal: $5,000 for Survival and a New Start
While he has applied for government assistance, the processing time takes 1-2 months. He does not have two months to wait. This fundraiser aims to raise $5,000 (approx. 5M KRW) to provide:
• Emergency Housing & Food: To prevent homelessness and end his immediate hunger.
• Surgery & Rehabilitation: To remove the old surgical pins and treat his hand injury so he can eventually return to work.
• A Safe Haven for Recovery: Due to severe PTSD, he cannot stay in shared shelters. He needs a private, quiet space to heal both physically and mentally.

4. Why Your Help Matters
For someone who has felt abandoned by the world since birth, your contribution is more than just financial aid—it is a message that his life has value. We want to show him that "the world is still a warm place, and you deserve to live."
Even a small donation can provide a meal, a night of shelter, or a step toward a life-changing surgery. Please help me save my friend.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

Transparency and Fund Distribution
• How funds will be transferred: Since GoFundMe does not support direct transfers to South Korean bank accounts, I (the organizer) will withdraw the funds into my Canadian bank account and then transfer them directly to my friend in South Korea via international transfer services (such as Wise or Remitly).
• Accountability: I will provide regular updates by posting transfer receipts and progress reports on my friend’s surgery and recovery in the 'Update' section. Every cent will go directly toward his medical bills, housing, and basic survival needs.
