This is an appeal for immediate help with a crisis intervention on behalf of a twenty-five-year-old female who has endured a lifetime of sexual assault and torture.

Now that she is twenty-five, the victim appears outwardly successful, in many ways. Looking at her, you might have no inkling of what she has been through. But her physicians and counselors know better. She struggles daily with the basics of life, eating, drinking and sleeping due to night terrors, physical pain and her perpetrator being in close proximity. At the heart of every child-abuse case is a grotesque imbalance of power.

This victim bears the scars of that power imbalance, in horrific and terrible ways. Tragically, the mental, physical and sexual abuse are still going on. As recently as September of this year.

That makes four times, this year alone, that her mother has assaulted her. The power imbalance—and the victim's terror of her mother—are still very real.

This young woman has never felt safe in her life as this abuse began at the age of two. She has suffered abuse in every relationship that was supposed to provide her safety and protection. Abused, and trafficked, by multiple members of her family she has tried every way to cope and find safety in her life.

The issues here are physical, emotional, difficult, and deep. This victim has a level of complex PTSD that makes it extremely difficult for even the strongest, most resilient clients to make progress in conventional therapy.

We are asking for your help in getting her to a place of emotional and physical safety. There has never been a time in her life when she remembers not being assaulted, regularly.

She just 5 days ago landed in a safe place, the relief she has been praying for. A trauma treatment program thousands of miles away from her abuser. She has just begun to relax, breathe and believe that she has hope for a different life and future. She wants to heal and then in turn help save others.

Yesterday she received the news that her insurance is capping her trauma treatment and she will only receive 4 more days of care. She immediately spiraled to a dark place of hopelessness and despair.

We are asking for your help in giving her those first, all-important steps toward recovery. This victim is in extreme pain, both emotional and physical, and she needs immediate treatment, in a specialized setting. Please consider helping her on this journey.
