Hello,

My name is M, and I am currently a low-income undergraduate student of color at WashU. I am looking for support during this very difficult time. Unfortunately, I am a victim of past emotional, physical, and sexual abuse from my father, and my mother’s been abusive as well during my entire time as a student here. Consequently, I have gone no-contact with my family for the betterment of my mental and physical health.

I haven’t had many support systems throughout my life, and I feel like I should take a semester's leave to truly heal from my past abuse. However, because of my strained relationship with my family, I am left fending for myself, and I have no financial resources to be able to attend a mental health treatment center during my medical leave. If my financial situation doesn't change soon, I will be homeless this summer, and I really need your help to change that outcome. Any funds that I receive from this page will go towards medical/living expenses and any extra tuition costs.

Furthermore, if the goal is surpassed, I can afford to have a psychiatric service dog to aid with my anxieties and flare-ups in public. Moreover, I will also donate any excess funds to local St. Louis domestic violence shelters to aid those who are in similar situations as me.

I want a second chance at life, and now I have the confidence to do it; I just need your help to achieve that dream. Thank you for your consideration during this time :)!
