Help Val, a Sudden Widow get through the 1st Year
Donation protected
Hi, everyone. Thanks for reading this. Two weeks ago my 57 year old brother Erik Hollenback died unexpectedly in his sleep. It was a terrible shock to all of us but especially his wife, Val. Due to his long term disability, he had no life insurance. He was forced to cancel it to afford other more pressing bills.
Social security disability laws in New Jersey have meant that they have not been able to have more than $2000 in assets aside from their house and car. That has quickly disappeared.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Valerie, who is a selfless and giving woman. They had no children. There are no death benefits for her.
Valerie works full time at a job she loves, but can't make ends meet on her own.
It would mean everything if in her grief she could at least be assured that she will not face losing her home and car.
We are counting on the kindness of friends and strangers to build up money to pay her property taxes which are close to $10,000 a year, and to cover her homeowners insurance, auto insurance, and pellets for the stove that heats her small house.
Please consider giving any amount. It 100% will go to give reassurance, peace of mind and even a head start to a widow who must start over at age 57.
Thank you for your kindness and attention.
