I am a physical impaired college student, struggling to find a job, and I recently got into a car accident with my boyfriend. Thankfully the car and the seat belts did their job and we both remain physically unharmed. A car from the right hand lane attempted to make a U-turn from the right hand lane cutting across the left hand lane. As a result of us not being able to slow down in time the front end of my car was totaled and became undrivable. The BMW we hit walked away with some scratches and some slight dents. I could no longer afford insurance back in November due to my some of my benifits being cut by the Govenment. Back in October I could no long pay rent for the aparment I was staying at because of this cut and had to move back home with my parents.
On top of everything else this is happening durning my finals week and because of how the accident went down and the way I hit the BMW it's looking to be set up as my fault even though the other car pulled out in front of me with no signal.
The rough cost of covering the ticket, 6 months of insurance, and to collect my car from the impound lot is around 4,500 USD if not more. This is assuming insurance would fix my car, which I'm assuming they most likely won't because I didn't have any at the time of the accident. I am at a loss on how to gather such money before January 23, 2026, my court date for my ticket, and so I'm resorting to this as a last resort. Thankfully I have a safe place to stay for the moment but I still need an operating car to take myself to and from classes as well as take my boyfriend to and from work.
