Help a Determined TMSA Alumnae Overcome Financial Barriers
We are reaching out on behalf of one of our TMSA alumnae, a determined and resilient student who has faced immense challenges in her pursuit of higher education. Despite navigating a difficult home environment, family loss, and repeated bureaucratic setbacks, she has remained focused on her academic goals and committed to continuing her education.
Her Journey
Since graduating from TMSA Triad Secondary , she lost her dad and she doesn’t have any family member or guardian supporting her. This lack of access led to her being classified as a non-resident in her home state, which severely limited her eligibility for in-state tuition and financial aid.
Although she appealed the residency decision and worked closely with her school’s financial aid office, the situation remained unresolved for a long time. During her first semester of college, she learned that her financial aid documents were missing from the system, forcing her to restart the process from scratch. She has spent countless hours over many months trying to resolve these issues, often hitting roadblocks due to documentation she simply could not provide.
Compounding the stress, she suffered the devastating loss of her father during this time. Despite all of this, she stayed committed to her studies and pushed forward. Her efforts were finally recognized recently when her residency status was approved, marking a huge step forward.
The Current Challenge
Prior to the approval, she accumulated a significant balance due to the lack of in-state financial aid. Although the balance was reduced with her new status, she still owes over $5,000 and has been told there are no further aid options available. She has exhausted every official channel and is now reaching out for support from her community and anyone willing to help.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward covering her outstanding tuition balance, allowing her to remain enrolled and continue working toward her degree. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful impact and help lift an unfair financial burden from a student who simply wants the opportunity to succeed.
We thank you in advance for your generosity and for standing with her during this critical time. Let’s help her continue the journey she’s worked so hard to stay on.
