My name is Denara. I am a Chicago-based educator and singer/performer. I care deeply about community and the work that I do, and I try to help out in any way I can, sometimes at my own detriment.

This past summer, I had some financial difficulties, including not receiving regular income (I work for CPS), needing maintenance on my car (AGAIN), and experiencing a flood where I lost many of my belongings and had to pay a lot of money to try and save the items that I could. I am currently trying to get caught up on bills and replace those lost items. I am also the main breadwinner in my household, which means that most of the financial responsibilities fall on me.

I am trying to raise $2,500 to make up for the lost income I had this summer, as well as to replace some clothes and furniture that were ruined during the flood, and to get my car fixed. Please know that this will not only help me stay afloat until I receive regular income again, but it will also allow me to keep helping and caring for those I care about.
