My name is Kristina and I am suffering from End Stage Renal Failure. Both of my kidneys are not functioning, so therefore I am doing dialysis 3 times a week for 3 hours every day. I am a single mother with 3 kids. Their father hasn't been in the picture for almost 8 years now. I have been taking care of my kids all by myself, working 5 days a week as an assistant manager, having to work 10 hours every day. I was diagnosed in October of last year. One day, my legs and feet started swelling, and it went on for almost 2 weeks before I decided to go to the emergency room to find out what was wrong. Then immediately, I was sent to the ICU for blood transfusions, and then I had to undergo surgery to have a catheter placed in my chest for dialysis. I had no idea that the catheter placed in my chest is also connected to my heart. On top of my kidneys failing, I also have high blood pressure. Most of the time, my blood pressure is in the 200s, which is bad because that is a precursor for a stroke or worse. I had to quit working in January of 2026 because my legs were so bad that I could barely walk to the bathroom. So therefore, my job told me that in order for me to return to work, I would need to turn in a doctor's note. I was able to keep my bills up with my tax refund and the short-term disability that my job gave me. But all of that is over now, and I have no way to pay my bills to keep a roof over my kids' and my heads. All of my family has passed away, and my father is diagnosed with dementia, so on top of trying to help him, I am trying to help myself, and I have fallen on hard times. I have nowhere else to turn. I tried to get help from the state, but of course, the social services said that there is no money to help me. I have filed for everything I could think of with no help so far. Then I researched and found GoFundMe. So I am signing up in hopes that there are people in this world that can help a struggling mom of 3 get back on her feet and keep the lights on for my kids. I am doing this not for me but for my kids. I have begged and pleaded with my doctors to write me a note so I can go back to my job that I had for 8 years, but the doctors won't write the note until I get my blood pressure down and my kidneys functioning a little better than they are now. I hate asking for help, but I have to for the sake of my kids. This is definitely not a scam, and I can provide any type of documents to stand by my diagnosis. I don't even have the money for my prescriptions for my blood pressure medicine. So please, if you find it in your heart to donate to my fundraiser, I guarantee you the funds will go all to my kids and my bills. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. And God Bless!!
