Help a struggling family facing homelessness

I’m writing this on behalf of a kind-hearted woman I know who is facing an incredibly heartbreaking and urgent situation. She, her husband, and their two young children are at risk of losing the only roof they have over their heads - a single room in her late mother-in-law’s house.

This couple lives with their two young children in a single small room inside the husband’s late mother’s home in Morocco. They’ve been surviving on an extremely low income — so low that rent has never been an option. Most weeks, they can’t afford proper food and have to get by on just bread for days at a time. There’s no savings, no government support, and no one else to turn to.

Two weeks ago, the husband’s mother passed away. Although the home is part of the family inheritance, the other relatives agreed to let them stay, knowing they had nowhere else to go. The entire family — two parents and two small children — sleep, eat, and live in a single cramped room. It’s far from ideal, but it’s the only roof they have.

Now, even that is at risk.

The husband’s estranged & problematic brother — who hasn’t been around for nearly 10 years and didn’t attend his mother’s funeral — showed up demanding his share of the inheritance. He wants the house sold or paid out, and he’s now threatening legal action. This family cannot afford to hire a lawyer, let alone survive court fees or the risk of being forced out. If they lose this home, they will be on the streets with their children.

The house is extremely small and was never fully finished. It’s not worth much, and selling it wouldn’t even result in a large amount for each of the eight siblings — just a few hundred or maybe a couple thousand each. But despite that, the husband’s estranged brother is insisting on his share, creating conflict and threatening legal action that could leave this struggling family

We’re trying to raise funds to help them:

Afford food and essential living expenses

Get legal help to defend their right to stay

Provide some financial breathing room in case things escalate
