Help a small business recover from COVID & a fire

Donation protected
On August 10th, a powerful storm called a derecho tore through Chicago, causing widespread damage. At least one tornado was reported in the city and many power lines came down, cutting off electricity and causing fires. Unfortunately, one of these fires significantly damaged a dog daycare in the Albany Park neighborhood called Diamond Dogs. Thankfully, they were able to get all of the dogs and employees out, but they were still recovering from the COVID shutdowns when this tragedy hit and could use some help.

The folks at Diamond Dogs truly love what they do and provide great care for our furry friends on the northwest side. Like many people, my dog is my family and Diamond Dogs provides much-needed socialization, exercise and companionship for her and many others.

Thankfully, the building is salvageable, but the cost of repairs will be about $5,000, which is the same amount of their insurance deductible, so unfortunately their insurance isn't going to cover anything. They already tried getting assistance from the Small Business Administration during the COVID shutdown and were denied.

I will provide additional updates as soon as I have them. Thank you!
