Help a single mum to protect herself and her kids

With all the respect and gratitude, I urgently ask for financial support to cover legal fees for my custody case of my 2 children and my kids expenses.

Hello, I am a mother for two children aged 7 and 9. I divorced 6 years ago, and since then have been caring for the children with minimal support from their father. One and half years ago, I got engaged again, and since then the father of the children has stopped to give any support, and is now making a case to try and take the children from me, after I wanted to be married to the man I love.

I was trying my best to reach the most peaceful agreements with the father of the children, believing in the verbal agreement made at the time of the divorce. This agreement was the children staying with their father at holiday times, while I would take care of them during school time.

However, after I became engaged, their father stopped to give any financial support, demanding that the children do not live with my new partner, visiting every 2 weeks, and finding ways to manipulate and control my personal life. Further more in the past 2 summer holidays, he took them for interviews at schools in his city without any discussions between us, and then tried to persuade me to give the children to him, and let me only see them at holiday times, completely changing our custody agreement. He is preventing me to take my own stuff from his house, and also this last summer, when he did not want to give me the children, he kept all the kids stuff, clothes and toys.

For the last year I am working at their school to cover the school fees, with no money left for my personal life. Thankfully my fiancee, my best friend and my family have given financial support for the other expenses like food, activities, health… etc.

The last time I went to collect the children, he refused to let me enter the house, and physically assaulted me when I did, throwing me out of the house in front of the two children. Thankfully I had the help of my two female cousins, to persuade him that the children should go with me.

During the past year and a half, I have tried to find ways to communicate with him, involving family and mediators, believing that a resolution can be made; for him to accept that I am marrying again, and want to continue having my children live with me. For him also to still have his rights to see the children, and have his valuable time with them. I also asked the he not to interfere in my personal life, that he gives financial support to the children, and that the custody agreement remains the same.

I discovered that I was offering a lot of compromises to keep all in peace, and there was no change in his position, and infact he continued to try and manipulate, spread lies to family and mutual friends, and create a big trauma for the two children.

The father is now taking court action for the children to have to travel each week to see him in his city ( a 10 hour drive away), which will create huge instability for the children. He is trying to find any way he can to take full custody, and does not want the children to live with me.

I need to pay for all the court cases to make my legal papers to keep my kids with me, make clear custody agreements and financial

child support agreements.

It is a time for me to stand firmly for my rights, but for that I need financial help. I deeply appreciate your support to our family, and myself in this important and difficult time.
