Support a Single Mother & Community Advocate After a Devastating Loss

Our sister and relative has dedicated her life to standing up for our community, advocating for unhoused relatives, protecting women and children in crisis, and showing up for our elders. She gives everything she has to others, always putting their needs before her own. But now, she needs us.

Just a month ago, after struggling to replace her last vehicle, totaled in a freak accident involving being hit by a runaway trailer, she was finally able to purchase a brand-new car. It wasn’t easy, but she made it happen. And now, after only one month, it’s gone.

In the early hours of February 25th, her car was stolen in Rapid City and taken on a high-speed police chase. The person driving recklessly damaged it beyond repair, leaving it completely undrivable. Insurance will cover some of the loss, but not enough to replace what she’s lost.

As a single mother, this car was her lifeline, not just for her family, but for the work she does every day in our community. Without it, she faces enormous challenges.
