My name is Ruba Hammad, a mother from Gaza.

I was a mother to three beautiful daughters:

Rania, Dina, and my youngest… Lana.

We lived a simple and quiet life, holding on to hope and dreaming of a safe and better future for my girls.

But everything changed in a single moment…

During the war, our home was hit by an airstrike.

In that moment, I lost my two eldest daughters, Rania and Dina.

Only my infant daughter Lana survived.

And because of my severe injury, my left leg had to be amputated.

Since then, I walk on crutches and fight every day to take care of my child.

But the war didn’t only take my daughters…

It took my home, my ability to work, and everything I owned.

Today, I’m no longer able to provide Lana with food or medicine.

Lana – The Only Light in My Life

Since birth, Lana has suffered from chronic heart disease, and her condition has worsened due to the harsh circumstances of the war.

She urgently needs:

Continuous medical care

Specialized heart medication

Proper nutrition that I can no longer provide because of the blockade and soaring prices

With closed borders, medicine shortages, and lack of food, Lana’s condition is deteriorating quickly.

I am doing everything I can, but my health and the war have made it nearly impossible.
