My name is Ruba Hammad, a single mother from Gaza.
I was a mother to three beautiful daughters:
Rania, Dina, and my youngest, Lana.
We lived a simple, quiet life, holding on to hope and dreaming of a safe and better future for my girls.
But everything changed in a single moment…
In August, during the war that began on October 7, an airstrike hit our home.
In that moment, I lost my two eldest daughters, Rania and Dina.
My world collapsed.
Only my infant daughter Lana survived —
Today, she is all I have left.

Since birth, Lana has suffered from chronic heart disease, and her condition has worsened severely due to the war.
She urgently needs:
Continuous medical care
Specialized heart medication
Proper nutrition that I can no longer provide due to the blockade and soaring prices
With border closures, medicine shortages, and lack of food, Lana’s health is deteriorating fast.
I’m doing everything I can, but it’s not enough.
