My name is Jamie, and I am a single mom to an amazing 13-year-old son. I’ve been raising him on my own for his entire life, and it’s been a struggle. I currently work 2 jobs to make ends meet in a small town where we have no family or support system. We moved here 9 years ago, for a relationship that turned out to be abusive. I got out of that relationship and began to heal but In order to not disrupt my son’s life any further, I chose to stay in this small town and try to make a life for us. Employment is difficult to find here, the schools are severely underfunded due to bad financial management, and my son is falling through the cracks. I’m tired of trying to make it work in a place that is not meant for us. In order to give my son all the opportunities he deserves, to find better employment, and to make a better life for us, we are moving to be closer to friends and family in beautiful Ohio. Moving 2500 miles away is expensive, and I could really use some help to get us there. Moving truck, supplies, dump runs, gas, and hotel stays are all very expensive… especially when you’re struggling to make ends meet as it is! We could really use some financial support during this massive transition we are undertaking on our own!

I lost my mother when I was 19 to a Glioblastoma, and my son lost his father when he was 2, although they only met once. I’ve been making a go of it on my own for 23 years, and as much as I like being independent, I could really use some help to get us to this next stage in our lives.
