A single mom in our community is facing the unimaginable—she’s at risk of losing her home this winter. After her beloved aunt passed away, she became the beneficiary of the house, hoping to build a safe and stable life for herself and her child. Unfortunately, a local relative who promised to pay the property taxes did not follow through. This left her with a significant amount of back taxes, and now the threat of losing her home is very real.

To make matters worse, her house is in desperate need of repairs. The roof leaks, there’s no heat, and the pipes have frozen during the coldest months. Despite these challenges, she continues to show incredible strength and resilience. She is an amazing artist and singer, always giving back to the community through leadership roles and helping others facing housing and poverty challenges. She’s the kind of neighbor who lifts everyone up, even when she’s struggling herself.
