Help a Single Mom and Her Kids Recover from the Storm

We all know the recent aftermath of Hurricane Helene has impacted many of us, but for one single mom and her two children in South Carolina, the situation has become overwhelming. In addition to losing power for days, they’ve been facing serious damage to their home. A powerline is down on the house, and the front right corner has washed out, leaving the structure unstable. Water leaks have caused further damage, and they’ve been without power or basic necessities since Thursday night.

As if that weren’t enough, without any money for a hotel or temporary housing, this mom has had no choice but to stay in the damaged trailer with her kids, hoping for a way to rebuild. With the loss of power came the loss of all their food, adding another layer of hardship to an already dire situation.

I’m her lifelong friend and have known this mom since she was one year old—we’re so close we’re like sisters. While I’m currently in Florida, I’m raising funds to help her because I know firsthand what a loving, hardworking person she is. She’s doing her best, but between the structural damage, the lack of food, and no way to leave the house, she’s in urgent need of help.

We’re raising money to cover the repairs her home desperately needs, replace the food she’s lost, and hopefully provide a bit of relief for her family as they work to get back on their feet.
