Mariela’s older cousin is a devoted single mother of five children. She has always worked hard to provide for her family, most recently at a restaurant called On the Border. When the restaurant closed down unexpectedly, she was given only two days’ notice, leaving her without a job and facing sudden uncertainty. Despite the challenges, she remained strong for her kids, determined to find a way forward.

Just days after losing her job, tragedy struck again when her house caught on fire. The family lost their home and many of their belongings, including clothes and essentials for the children. Now, they are facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. Mariela’s cousin is doing everything she can to keep her family safe and together, but the road ahead is difficult.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward securing a new home for Mariela’s cousin and her children, as well as helping them recover what was lost in the fire. This includes replacing clothes and other necessities for the kids.
