Help a Single Mom Rebuild After Devastating Scam

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,

I wouldn’t be reaching out if I didn’t truly need your help.

As many of you know, since moving to South Carolina, I’ve been a single mom to Adam, Daniel, and Aiden. I work full-time as a nurse, doing my very best to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. Everything my boys and I have is by the grace of God.

On June 18th, after coming home from work, I fell victim to a devastating scam impersonating Wells Fargo. I received a series of text messages about suspicious activity on my account — some from the real Wells Fargo, and others from the scammer. Shortly after, I got a call from someone claiming to be a Wells Fargo representative, who said they were calling to freeze my account and prevent further fraudulent purchases.

They asked me to provide the security code that Wells Fargo had just sent for verification. That code was from the real Wells Fargo — but tragically, I didn’t realize I was sharing it with a scammer.

Within minutes of giving them my “advanced access code,” my entire bank account was emptied. The scammer logged in, changed my password, transferred all my savings into checking, disabled my debit card, and made a fraudulent purchase — draining everything I had. I was in shock.

I reported it immediately and filed a claim with the bank, praying their fraud insurance would protect me. But on July 1st, I received a letter stating my claim was denied because the incident “was not related to an online fraud event and cannot be resolved by our team.” When I called to follow up, I was told that because I had shared the code, the bank considered the transaction authorized — and therefore, I was at fault.

This has been one of the hardest experiences I’ve faced. Still, I am holding on to faith and gratitude. Money can be lost and regained — and I thank God that what was taken wasn’t my children, my health, my home, or my spirit. I continue to count every blessing, especially those earned through sacrifice and hard work. With God’s help, and hopefully with yours, I know I can rebuild.

Today, I’m humbly asking for your support — to help me stay on my feet and get through this month. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean more to me and the boys than I could ever express.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your love, prayers, and support. May God bless you always. ❤️
