I'm a single mother recently displaced from my apartment due to a fire. The fire was an accident that started from a cigarette butt while the baby and I were asleep. The fire was on the outside of the apartment, but the firefighters wanted to make sure that the fire didn't spread to the attic and therefore had to tear the ceiling in our apartment and the apartment next to us. The apartment has been deemed uninhabitable, and I am currently looking for a new apartment ASAP for my baby and my dog. Anything will help. Some of my baby's things were destroyed by fiberglass, and my furniture is beyond repair. This is an awful way to end my year, but it will not bring me down. I'm more motivated to create a stable place of peace for my child and for myself as well.
