I am a single mother who has always worked hard to provide for my child. After twelve years at my job, I lost everything when I came forward about s.a. and was unjustly let go. The loss of my job meant I could no longer afford rent, bills, or my car payment. My child and I were evicted and forced to live in our vehicle. It was one of the hardest times of my life, but I never gave up hope.
Recently, I overcame homelessness and found temporary shelter. I was so grateful to start my dream job as a care specialist, helping others in my community. Just as things were looking up, my car was repossessed—even though I was making payments and communicating with the bank. Now, I am without transportation, which is required for my job and for getting my child to school. The shelter is too far from the school to walk, and I am worried about losing my job and my child missing out on their education.
Having a vehicle would mean everything to us. It would allow me to keep my job, provide for my child, and ensure they get to school on time. I have many debts and cannot qualify for a car loan right now, so I am reaching out for help. Every share is a chance that someone who might be in a position to help will see my need and reach out. I am willing to work for it, and this is the first time I've needed help after being independent since I was 16. Your support would mean the world to us as we work to rebuild our lives.
