At just 40 years old, my childhood friend’s entire world changed overnight.
She was recently diagnosed with B-cell leukemia and is now facing an intense battle that will keep her hospitalized for at least the next 6 months as she begins aggressive treatment and chemotherapy.
She dedicated her life to caring for others as a full-time nurse at Northside Hospital while also working hard to run a small home business on the side to provide for her family. She has always been the kind of person who handled everything on her own, no matter how hard things got.
But now, she needs us.
She is a single mother of two. Her oldest child is grown, but her youngest son is only 16 years old and autistic. In the middle of fighting for her own life, she is also carrying the overwhelming fear and stress of making sure her son is cared for, bills are paid, and their home remains stable while she cannot work.
Because of her treatments, she was forced to resign from the nursing career she loved. And she is unable to run her home business from the hospital. The loss of income, combined with mounting medical and household expenses, has created an unimaginable burden during an already devastating time.
If you know her, you know how strong, compassionate, hardworking, and selfless she is. She has spent so long helping others heal. Now it’s our turn to help her.
Please consider donating, sharing, or simply keeping her and her children in your prayers. Every donation — no matter the size — will go toward helping with medical expenses, household bills, food, transportation, and supporting her son while she focuses on fighting cancer.
Most importantly, we want her to know she is not alone in this battle.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting this beautiful family during the hardest season of their lives.
