Hello everyone,

I am reaching out in hopes of some help. I am a single mother who found out last month that my son’s father passed away from a motorcycle accident. Ricardo and I had been best friends since we were kids, 12 years old to be exact, and as a result of our relationship, we had our son.

Unfortunately, at 34 years young, Ricardo’s life was cut short, leaving me with our 7-year-old son. It has been difficult for both of us to understand and transition into this new phase of our lives. I have put my son in therapy to help him through the grieving process and have had to hire attorneys for the probate/estate. Because Ricardo and I were never legally married, it has become a more difficult and longer process.

I am asking for help in any way possible to help support my son and to help pay some of the attorney fees. If you are not able to donate, please help by sharing.

UPDATE: I have my first court hearing in Aug. it will be one of many. I have more filing and petitions I need to put in but first court date is set for the start of a long process.

Update #2: I have now had to seek counsel and open up a case through family law for the guardianship which is additional fees to file. I have not decided if I want to seek a lawyer for this to assist me which may make it a third attorney.
