Thank you for taking the time to click on the link that I have sent you. It has been a life long dream of mine to own my own venue in the hospitality business. The purpose of this go fund me account is to help with the missing part of my down payment for an SBA loan to achieve this dream.
In case you didn't know I have a resume stretching almost 20 years of hands on experience in the hospitality industry. 17 of which have been in the Los Angeles market. I have been responsible for building and developing numerous bars and restaurants, and sustaining substantially increased profit margins. The long-term personal and professional relationships with local business owners and purveyors will benefit and enable me to thrive in a close-nit neighborhood, and will no doubt provide an excellent foundation to pull on for support and expertise.
As everyone has been affected by COVID-19 in different ways I know that these are hard times. I personally was laid off from my job of 3.5 years due to the closures that decimated the hospitality industry back in March. As most people in this industry I have struggled to find any type of full time work and being a single parent does not make it any easier. I then came to the decision to either just let these problems bury me or do something about it.
I have started on the long journey of securing funds, filling out paperwork and writing and rewriting a business plan to chase after the dream I have always wanted. Like most people I don't have unlimited funds and there is only so much capitol I can raise. This is the main reason for me starting this go fund me account. My hope is that with support from family, friends, and people that I have had the privilege of meeting through out my 17 years in Los Angeles I can gather the last amount I need to put the down payment on my SBA loan.
Your donation not only helps me achieve this dream but will help me in putting some of my fellow industry brothers and sisters back to work. Taking care of people is the definition of hospitality and that is what I would like to be able to do in conjunction with achieving my personal goals.
While some people would consider chasing this dream now to be a risk, I have been taught that "without risk there is no reward". The restaurant and bar scene in LA has forever changed and venues with outside dining have adapted and people are frequenting them at a much higher rate. That being said, the only venues that I will settle on will include these highly coveted outside areas.
In closing, I am aware of the extraordinary and tough times we are all facing. Any size donation will be much appreciated. Whether your donation is small, medium or large, it will help me provide a better future for my son, supply jobs to an industry that desperately needs them, and enable me to fulfill a dream of mine to execute this concept.
