Help a Single Dad Stay Afloat After Unexpected Financial Hit
Hi, my name is Alfred, and I’m a single father doing my best to raise two amazing daughters on my own. I’ve been their sole provider since they were just 1 and 9 years old, and through every challenge—pandemic layoffs, medical emergencies, and a difficult divorce—I’ve kept pushing forward to make sure they have what they need.
Recently, I was blindsided by a large, unexpected bill that completely wiped out my checking and savings accounts just two days after payday. It overdrew my account by $1,600. While I’ve been blessed to receive $500 so far, I’m still $1,100 short—and now I can’t pay rent, utilities, or other basic needs. I’m doing everything I can to avoid eviction, keep the lights on, and prevent my car from being repossessed.
Much of my financial hardship stems from an ongoing divorce that’s cost me nearly $16,000—largely due to delays and continuations out of my control. I’m not receiving any child support, and, unfortunately, I can’t tap into my retirement due to age and employment restrictions.
I’ve always found a way through in the past, but this time, I can’t do it without help. If you can contribute or share, I would be deeply grateful. Every little bit helps me protect my girls and keep our home stable.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
