I am a disabled mother who's 38 and on dialysis. As of 2 weeks ago, I was discharged from the hospital. My kidney function was at 11% and my blood pressure was 220/150. I was there for 15 days, and it was rough. I have congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, high blood pressure, edema, and COPD. I have been having good days and bad. Some days I'm so exhausted I come home and sleep from being so tired and nauseous. It takes a lot out of you, which they told me it would. I'm there for 4 hours, 3 times a week. I have an acute injury on top of COPD and am on oxygen for that. I also have congestive heart failure.
My children are my 4-year-old bonus daughter, who I consider my child and have had since she was 7 days old, my 18-year-old son who still lives at home, and my 19-year-old daughter. I found out our landlord will not be taking rent from us for April or moving forward and wants to have us move and sell where we live. I get SSI and SSDI, but with the cost of living and moving, we will need first, last, and deposit, and I don't have that. I'm seeking to raise the funds for application fees, first month's rent, last month's rent, and deposit so my family and I are not homeless.
My husband was a GM for Speedway and was let go due to an unforeseen situation that left him in a predicament. He is now fighting a court case and has not been able to find employment at all. Every job says once the court stuff is over, reapply, or they will say they're not interested. It is not ideal to go to a shelter with my oxygen concentrator; even my social workers with the dialysis center and my insurance say that as well, worrying about people tripping or kids tripping over my cords. Due to it being in overflow, any help is appreciated, and we will be forever grateful. Please help if you can and keep us in your prayers.
