If you know my grandfather, Joe Gonzales, you know he’s the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his wallet, and his time—no matter how tired he is—to help someone else. He’s spent his whole life putting everyone’s needs before his own: his brothers and sisters, his kids, his grandkids, and even people in his town who just needed a hand.

Now, he needs something important done for his own health — surgery on his mouth that’s necessary for his well-being and long-term quality of life. Of course, in true “him” fashion, he doesn’t want anyone to worry or make a big deal out of it. But this time, we’re making sure he gets the care he deserves.

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover the surgery, recovery costs, and bills while he takes time to heal. He’s spent years showing up for everyone else — this is our chance to show up for him.
