As a recently retired teacher, I was looking forward to lots of walks with the 18 year old and the corgi, some travel, before she heads off to college, but life had other plans.

After holding off the cancer for 19 years after 2 breast cancers in my early 30s, I thought I had it in the rearview mirror. Not so much.

I find myself once again fighting against cancer. This time though, as a much older human, but also as a parent.
