Help a Retired Senior Replace Stolen E-Bike
Donation protected
I am so mad, I could spit.
As a retired senior, my life in New Mexico is good. My monthly income isn't enough for having a car. So, I walk alot and my city has decent public bus transportation.
Four months ago I was given a brand new electric bike; a wonderful gift. I researched and taught myself to ride, but also the rules of the e-bike road. I had my helmet and a sturdy 5/16" cable lock. I added saddlebags. Ready to ride!
IT WAS STOLEN. In broad daylight from the local transit center, despite high traffic, it being 9a on a Saturday, security cameras all around, and it being locked to the bike rack.
This is devastating to me. The bus doesn't have routes for all the neighborhoods I visit. Senior transport is available for medical purposes only. In a short time, the bike became a reliable ride for quick errands and a way to "get there from here".
I hate that someone stole it. I hate that I haven't found it. I hate that I am a low priority for police (in a crime saturated city). And I miss the loss of my independence & freedom the bike provided.
As Willie would say, I would like to be "on the road again".
Thank you for reading my story, and donating for my new bike. Please share my story.
Blessings to you.
