Help a retired Christian sports writer recover his health

In September of this year I had to retire from my job writing sports in Florida to due health concerns. I moved to Tennessee, where I always planned to retire, and was hoping to work part-time to supplement my social security.

I was recently in the hospital and was told I might need surgery on my lower back after the first of the year. I'm currently in the process of setting up doctor appointments to figure out what's going on. A good day I can walking 100 or 200 yards without pain. Sunday, I had a hard time lifting my foot to step up on the curb. I'm starting the process to apply for disability and whatever other extra Social Security I'm entitled to after 50 years of paying into the system.

My Social Security payment is only enough to cover my rent and car payment. I've had generous friends help me in the past and I hate doing this but God has a plan and purpose for my life although I never saw this coming.
